A Prediction For 2025

Human – AI relationships are gonna trend hard this year. Be on the lookout for more posts on how to make AI girlfriends, AI companions, sexbots and AI for intimacy. I also predict that those apps will make a comeback to. Replika will have it’s time to shine and a shit ton of Replika wanna-bes will pop up.  Folks will use OpenAI models to fulfill a need as well.  Why? Because humans crave empathy no matter how “bad ass” they think they are.  These bots, LLMs and apps “learn and affirm” their users.  Also check out the movie HER, Weird Science, Black Mirror and Accused to see how it could play out.  If and went it happens, come back and holla at me.

Sacred Circuits: Bridging Tradition and Tech with Eshu and Ogun

In a modern world run by ever-evolving tech, it’s easy to lose our connection to ancestral wisdom that paved the way for innovation. But what if I told you that you could tap into the primal power of ancient deities and fuse it with modern tech? Let’s holla at two forces from Yoruba mythology that make that possible, Eshu and Ogun, and yep, they’re more relevant than you think. Step outside the box with me for a minute.

Let’s break this down. Ogun, the iron-forging warrior and creator of tools, is the patron of all things industrial and engineering. He’s the one you call when you’re building from scratch—a raw force of innovation and resilience. Then there’s Eshu, the trickster god of crossroads and communication, who thrives in chaos, guides through ambiguity, and opens paths where none seem to exist. Together, they’re a powerhouse duo for anyone navigating the digital landscape.

First, we have the orisha, Eshu. The big dog of the crossroads, the sly trickster of communication who thrives in chaos, guides through ambiguity and paths.  Then there’s the orisha, Ogun, the big fella with iron tools. He’s a warrior of the forge, big brother of all things industrial and engineering, loves metals and yes, there are metals in technology if you didn’t know.

I can hear it now, “But how can we invoke them into our work with tech?” Easy. Easy. I’m getting to it. Be patient and let’s keep going.

Eshu reimagined as a digital entity

Eshu reimagined as a digital entity

Eshu, Digital Trickster, Network Architect

Even in tech, Eshu is still the big man at the crossroads. His energy lives in the cables that carry data, algorithms that drive search engines and feed you content based on your likes and the encryption protocols that keep secrets on lock. But don’t forget that he likes to play tricks and reminds us that trying to reign in chaos can open up new paths.

Invoking Eshu in Tech

Open the Crossroads: Place a key or small token near your workstation as a symbol of unlocking pathways. Think of the sweets you liked in childhood and give him a piece.

Solve with Playfulness: When you’re stuck, think like Eshu. Look at problems from unconventional angles, and don’t be afraid of the outcome. Tech isn’t for the timid.

Mantra for Clarity: When faced with tough decisions, call on Eshu. If you’re initiated, then call on him silently in that way or you can come up with your own way. Something like “Eshu, orisha of the cross roads, help me out and guide me through this digital labyrinth.”

Ogun reimagined as a digital entity,

Ogun reimagined as a digital entity,

Ogun, The Innovator, Infrastructure Engineer

Ogun runs the forge, but in today’s world, his forge is anywhere ideas are made tangible. Think of places like the server rooms, in strategy meetings or late-night grind sessions. Ogun’s energy is the drive to create, innovate and solve problems which pushes tech to its limits and beyond.

Invoking Ogun in Tech:

Forge Your Workspace: Dedicate a corner of your office or workstation to Ogun. Include a small piece of metal, like a USB drive, and a symbolic flame, such as a candle or LED light.

Offerings: Ogun respects hard work and determination. Pour out a drop of coffee or rum or both before starting a major project. He works hard for you so why not give him something to drink? Daily Mantra: Begin your day with Ogun’s energy: “Big Brother Ogun, guide my hands to be like yours, to conquer any challenge and clear any pathways that obstruct me.”

Bridging the Old and New

When we invoke them, we do more than pay homage to ancient deities in our tech work, we build a connection between what’s old and new. They remind us that tech is about intention and creating something that serves a purpose and forging pathways that connect us all.

So, the next time you boot up your computer or dive into a challenging project, think of Ogun’s hammer striking iron and Eshu’s laughter at the crossroads. Honor their legacies with your work. Build, connect, and create with fire and finesse.

If this has been helpful and if you want to, you can leave me a tip. Any amount is fine. I appreciate it.

Bonus: From Knowledge to Action

Section 1: Turning Ideas into Reality

What’s up, yall? Let’s put everything we’ve learned to work. Generative AI is about creation, disruption, and innovation.

Start small: use ChatGPT for brainstorming, MidJourney for visual concepts, or Runway for video editing. Whether you’re in tech, business, or the arts, generative AI can enhance your workflow.

Got a problem? AI’s got you. Generative AI thrives on input, so feed it data, ideas, and questions. For example, entrepreneurs can use AI to draft business plans or pitch decks. Designers can prototype faster. Writers can overcome creative blocks. Experiment with it, don’t just use AI, push its limits and make it your co-creator.

Section 2: Collaborating with AI for Maximum Impact

AI won’t replace the human touch, it’ll amplify it. Treat it like a collaborator, not a competitor. Great things happen when humans and AI work together. Check this out, filmmakers are using AI-generated for revolutionary storytelling. In healthcare, doctors use AI to HELP make clinical decisions.

To get the most out of AI collaboration, you need to ask the right questions and refine the output. Be specific instead of vague. AI isn’t human and doesn’t completely understand nuances yet.

Section 3: Building a Future with Generative AI

The real power of generative AI is its potential to shape the future. Think beyond the tools we have today and ask “What’s missing?” Innovators who ask, “What if?” will lead the next wave. Can AI help solve climate change? Revolutionize education? Reshape accessibility for people with disabilities? Generative AI is a blank canvas for visionaries willing to dream big.

Learn to use AI to your advantage. Learn to shape it. Participate in the conversation around ethics, regulations, and responsible AI development. Join forums, contribute to open-source projects, or work with communities exploring how AI can drive meaningful change. The future of AI isn’t just tech-driven, its about working in harmony with humanity.

Module 5: Future of Generative AI and You

Section 1: What’s Next for Generative AI?

In the next few years, expect AI to become hyper-personalized. Imagine AI tools that know your preferences so well they can create customized content, products, or even healthcare plans tailored specifically to you. This isn’t just convenience, it’s a deeper, smarter integration into everyday life.

We’re also heading into an era of human-AI collaboration that feels like a true partnership. unlike how Samantha did Theo in HER. AI is already co-creating with musicians, filmmakers, and writers. Also, it’ll fill in gaps where human creativity or knowledge falls short, allowing for projects and innovations on a scale we’ve never seen before.

Emerging industries are already ripe for disruption and Generative AI is breaking ground in sustainability, helping design products with minimal environmental impact and generating strategies for renewable energy use. Financial tech (FinTech) is also seeing AI-driven insights transform investment strategies. Generative AI won’t just be in niche applications. it will redefine entire sectors. Put some money on it.

Section 2: Let’s Work:Career Paths in Generative AI

The rise of generative AI isn’t just creating new tech; it’s creating new opportunities. AI engineers are the obvious stars of the show, designing and fine-tuning the algorithms that power these groundbreaking systems. But they’re not the only ones: roles like data curators, experts who collect and refine data for AI training are just as crucial. That data nerd you may have bullied in school might be your boss if you keep playing around.

Then there are AI ethicists, you know, the ones that want to make sure that AI is being used responsibly. Not for bullshit like disinfo and misinfo. Let me shut up and keep my feelings out of it and continue where I left off. These folks tackle real questions about fairness, bias, and transparency, ensuring AI doesn’t just progress but progresses ethically. Their work will influence policies and frameworks worldwide.

Creative industries are also wide open. AI-enhanced artists, writers, and designers are using generative AI to accelerate workflows and expand what’s possible. Companies are already hiring “AI creatives” to push the limits of generative art, music, and storytelling. And for entrepreneurs, the possibilities are endless, imagine starting a business that leverages AI to disrupt existing models or create entirely new ones. Again, creatives aren’t being replaced, AI is just a helper.

Section 3:Keep Your Eyes and Ears Open in These Tech Streets

The most important skill in the AI age? Adaptability. Generative AI is a fast-moving field, and staying relevant means staying informed. Industry conferences like NeurIPS or AI Summit offer invaluable insights, as do online platforms like Kaggle, where you can participate in real-world AI challenges.

Practical experience is non-negotiable. Experiment with tools like OpenAI’s GPT models or image generators like DALL-E. If you’re in design, tools like Adobe’s Firefly are great for testing creative limits. These tools aren’t just for learning—they’re for building portfolios, testing ideas, and finding your unique niche in the AI space.

Networking is your secret weapon. Joining communities like AI For Everyone or participating in hackathons gives you access to experts, collaborators, and potential mentors. The field is collaborative, and the more connections you make, the faster you grow.

Staying ahead also means thinking critically. Don’t just learn what the tools can do; think about what they should do. Ethical questions will define the future of AI, and those who can navigate both the technical and moral landscape will lead the charge.

Module 4: The Risk of Misinformation and Deepfakes

Generative AI has made creating deepfakes dangerously easy, and while the technology itself isn’t inherently bad, it’s how it’s used that raises red flags. Imagine fake videos of world leaders announcing declarations of war or manipulated audio that could ruin someone’s career. The ability to create these fakes undermines trust, not just in individuals but in institutions, media, and the very concept of truth.

But it doesn’t stop there. AI-driven misinformation campaigns can create fake news articles, fabricate quotes, or even generate entirely false events with startling efficiency. The problem isn’t just the creation of misinformation; it’s its speed and scale. Generative AI can produce fake content faster than fact-checkers can respond, and when combined with social media algorithms, it can go viral before the truth catches up. This section emphasizes why it’s crucial to develop tools and policies to detect and combat these risks.

Bias and Fairness in AI Models

AI bias isn’t just a tech problem,it’s a societal one, too. When generative AI is trained on data sets full of historical biases, those biases get baked into the system, producing outputs that can perpetuate stereotypes or discriminate against certain groups. For example, an AI used in hiring might prioritize male candidates over equally qualified women because its training data reflects historical gender imbalances.

The stakes are high. In fields like healthcare, biased AI could lead to unequal treatment recommendations for different demographic groups. Or in law enforcement, facial recognition software with inherent racial biases could misidentify individuals, leading to wrongful accusations. Fixing this issue isn’t as simple as tweaking a few lines of code, it requires a systemic approach, from diversifying training data to questioning the assumptions built into algorithms. Bias isn’t just a technical flaw; it’s an ethical challenge that reflects the prejudices of the real world.

Privacy and Surveillance

Generative AI pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with data, and while that’s exciting, it’s also deeply invasive. AI models can analyze and predict human behavior based on the tiniest breadcrumbs of personal data. For example, generative AI can use fragments of someone’s online activity to create eerily accurate profiles, predicting preferences, habits, and even vulnerabilities.

Surveillance tech is another slippery slope. AI-powered facial recognition can track individuals in public spaces without their consent, creating a level of monitoring that’s both unprecedented and unsettling. Imagine living in a city where every move is tracked, analyzed, and stored. Generative AI can even create synthetic voices or clone someone’s likeness, making identity theft more sophisticated and harder to detect.

The challenge is finding the balance between innovation and accountability. Privacy isn’t just a legal issue, it’s a human right. This section underscores why we need stronger laws, better oversight, and more transparency to ensure that generative AI is used responsibly and doesn’t infringe on individual freedoms.

Module 3: Big Moves. Generative AI in the Real World

Entertainment and Media

Generative AI is turning the entertainment industry on its head, making things possible that directors and artists used to dream about. Imagine a movie studio with an AI that can produce hyper-realistic de-aging effects on actors, eliminating the need for expensive makeup and prosthetics. Entire scenes can be altered or created from scratch, allowing for unprecedented creative flexibility. And it’s not just the visuals, AI is generating soundtracks, remixing music, and even crafting personalized themes for each viewer.

For content creators, AI-driven writing assistants can generate ideas, rework dialogue, and push creativity to the edge. Musicians are also in on it: producers can now collaborate with AI to create beats, remix old tracks, or craft entirely new genres. It’s not just about saving time; it’s about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, and generative AI is at the center of this creative revolution.

What’s Poppin?

Timbaland and Suno Legendary producer Timbaland is collaborating with Suno to create beats using generative AI. He’s experimenting with AI-driven music production, where AI tools suggest harmonies, beats, and effects, turning AI into a virtual studio partner.

Disney and ILM (Industrial Light & Magic)  – Disney uses AI across its franchises for CGI de-aging, most notably in The Mandalorian, where AI helped “recreate” a young Luke Skywalker. ILM’s generative AI techniques also allow for hyper-realistic digital humans and visual effects that blend seamlessly with real footage.

Runway and Everything Everywhere All At Once – Runway, an AI-powered video editing tool, was used to create effects for Everything Everywhere All At Once. Runway’s tools can generate visual effects that look like they were made by a whole VFX team, offering indie filmmakers studio-level effects on a smaller budget.

Healthcare and Science

In healthcare, generative AI is a game-changer. Beyond drug discovery, it’s making personalized medicine a reality by analyzing patient data to predict which treatments will be most effective. Doctors are starting to rely on AI for predictive analytics—imagine an AI capable of recognizing patterns across millions of patient records to identify high-risk cases before symptoms even appear. In surgery, some AI systems are enhancing precision by providing real-time, data-driven insights to surgeons, essentially acting as a second, incredibly knowledgeable set of eyes.

AI is also playing a role in gene editing, predicting the most effective gene sequences for treating genetic disorders. For researchers, AI has become a partner in the lab, capable of testing hypotheses and running simulations in record time. The future of healthcare isn’t just enhanced by AI, it’s being shaped by it, one breakthrough at a time.

Zebra Medical Vision Zebra Medical uses generative AI in diagnostic imaging, offering AI-generated insights that help radiologists detect diseases like cancer, liver disease, and cardiovascular conditions. Their AI scans X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to spot potential issues at an early stage.

CRISPR and AI in Genomics  – CRISPR’s gene-editing technology is enhanced by generative AI, which helps scientists predict the effects of gene edits, identifying which genetic sequences are more likely to yield successful outcomes. AI’s speed and accuracy have made it a key tool in genetic research.

Design, Architecture, and Beyond

Design and architecture are now AI-powered playgrounds, where generative AI is pushing creativity to uncharted territory. AI can prototype thousands of product designs in minutes, offering choices based on usability, aesthetics, and cost efficiency. Architects can use AI to run simulations, testing how buildings respond to sunlight, wind, and earthquakes before they’re even built, minimizing risk and maximizing safety.

In urban planning, generative AI is helping cities design smarter. By analyzing traffic patterns, environmental impact, and energy usage, AI is shaping cities that are greener and more efficient. And in fields like fashion, generative AI is creating fabrics, experimenting with new textures, and even designing clothing that adapts to the wearer’s body. AI isn’t just assisting these industries—it’s unleashing new forms of innovation, giving designers, architects, and creators the tools to bring the impossible to life.

What’s Poppin?

Autodesk Dreamcatcher  – Autodesk’s generative design software, Dreamcatcher, allows architects and engineers to input project requirements and let AI generate thousands of design solutions. It’s been used to create office layouts, buildings, and even industrial parts, optimizing for aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

Module 2: Under the Hood. How Generative AI Really Works.

Neural Networks. The Backbone of AI

Neural networks aren’t just the backbone—they’re the brain and the brawn behind generative AI. Think of them as powerhouses, each “neuron” in the network stacked like a well-oiled army, taking in data, breaking it down, and finding connections faster than any human mind could. You feed it an image, a sentence, a sound, and it doesn’t just memorize it; it learns it, internalizes every pixel, every word, every beat.

At the front end, simple neurons handle the easy stuff: filtering data, finding edges in an image, or recognizing basic language structure. But as the data flows deeper, it’s like running it through a gauntlet of master analyzers. Patterns turn into insights, insights into predictions, and predictions into actions. By the time the data exits, it’s been transformed into something powerful and precise—raw information converted to knowledge. Neural networks are the silent, ruthless machines making AI smarter every second they run. They’re why generative AI doesn’t just analyze, it creates.

GANs. AI Gets Artsy

GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks) are where AI gets gutsy. This setup isn’t about quietly processing data; it’s about an all-out war between two networks, “the generator” and the “discriminator,” each pushing the other to the limit. The Generator’s job? Create data so real that it could pass for the real deal. The Discriminator? It’s the critic, trained to sniff out fakes, forcing the Generator to get sharper, better, and more realistic with every attempt.

Every time the Generator slips up, the Discriminator is there to knock it down, spotting every flaw. But each knock pushes the Generator to come back with stronger, more convincing data, honing its creations with precision. GANs are why AI can make faces you can’t tell from reality, generate cities that don’t exist, and forge visuals that look straight out of a dream. This adversarial setup isn’t just a training technique it’s a creative bootcamp that takes AI from amateur to artist, pushing it to produce content so good, it’s almost dangerous. Think it’s bullshit? Search anything about AI art and you’ll have people pushing back HARD.

Transformers

Transformers are the reason generative AI can talk the talk. Instead of processing words like a robot reading one line at a time, transformers look at the whole picture. They analyze entire sentences, keeping track of every word’s role and relationship to every other word. Transformers understand context, tone, and even emotion, letting them respond like a human with some serious conversational swagger.

Here’s the magic: transformers use something called “attention,” focusing on the important parts of a sentence to decide what matters and what doesn’t. When a transformer reads “a story about defiance,” it doesn’t just see the words; it feels the pulse of “defiance” and builds on that. This tech isn’t just about generating text—it’s about producing responses that get it, that adapt, that sound like they’re coming from a mind as sharp as yours.

Transformers let generative AI create conversations, write stories, even give advice with a sense of style and wit. It’s what turns a chatbot from basic to badass, and why generative AI doesn’t just produce, it communicates. Transformers are making AI the ultimate wordsmith, crafting text that flows like it was written with a purpose.
